They confirmed that it did, so I had it shipped to my local store. Lo and behold, there wasn't any software included or even a software serial number. I'll be returning the unit. Since then, I've learned that even if a Guitar Center says that the Maschine software is included, they just mean that the disk is included.
They don't actually check with NI to see if the serial number is registered. One employee told me that I'd be able to register it anyway since it the software relied on the hardware. Another said that the hardware SN would be enough. Both are wrong. Are there any reliable ways to buy a used Maschine that has software, other than from someone you personally know and trust?

Having less buttons on the mikro means more complicated button presses or menus to get things done, but being able to do some more complicated things in the software evens it out for me. Honestly I feel the hardest thing with the mikro is it's hard to find tutorials that have the mikro commands/menus rather then the standard. But having used an MKII extensively I can say the mikro is built to the same standards and is just as rugged with the same oh so glorious pads.
